It is the first Fruit hotel in Italy (part of the Fruit Hotels chain) decorated with orange color nuances and orange scents. At the Orange Hotel in Rome, there is an unusual atmosphere where classic and contemporary blend together in 26 cozy rooms that are only a few minutes in walking distance from the Basilica of St. Peter's, the Vatican Museums and Castel Sant'Angelo. The predominant colors are orange, white and gray, in an American Sixties Art Dèco interior soft design. “We are a three superior star category, one that does not exist in Italy" explains director Gabriele Merico. “But it is a definition that we are particularly proud of because it means a special kind of hospitality, having, for example, a soft design and environmental attention which enables us to attract young people, capable of appreciating natural chic". The rooms are filled with a lovely orange essence, the products for the body are absolutely anti-allergic, and not tested on animals, electric power is obtained from solar panels and there is separate collection of waste inside every room. The motto and theme of the hotel is: “Comfort, you and the planet", meaning respect for the environment.

This new 4 star eco hotel surprises us because of its originality and its services that are worthy of a luxury structure. Its “natural chic" philosophy gives much attention to respect of nature. The hotel offers 26 rooms, which include 3 junior suites with a shower in the bathroom and bathtub in the rooms. Throughout the hotel, the dominating colors are orange, white and gray. The modern particular décor is attentive to every detail, and inspired by American Art Decò of the Sixties and the French one of the Twenties. In the lobby, a must is viewing the magnificent gray Vespa with… obviously… an orange colored seat…a homage to Italian design!On the last floor there is a cafe and restaurant with a "finger food" area if you feel like eating with your hands.In front of the terrace there is a magnificent view of St. Peter's which is the ideal place for breakfast or to have an enjoyable cocktail. Only a few months after its opening, it is already very popular because of its reasonable prices, high quaity DOP products and expertise cooking. All this, with a professional and pleasant welcoming on the part of the owners, Vincenzo and Rocco Viola and Riccardo Gandoglia who satisfy the customer's every whim, giving great importance to the proper cuisine, suggesting foods on the basis of tastes and moods, the ones that best satisfy the spirit and taste buds. There is a very well furnished meat counter with a wide selection of Danish and Florentine fresh, daily meats, prepared with great art, like tartars, carpaccios and beef steaks. Accompanying wonderful gricia meats are, of course, cheese and pepper tonnarelli, caserecce with porcini mushrooms, and caciocavallo cheese. All this is enhanced with a cantina offering a wide selection of mostly local wines. The passion and principles characterising the Trattoria sul Tetto are such that there is neither a water or cover charge, lowering the already incredibly reasonable prices. Whether it's because of the delicious dishes, the vivacious but intimate atmosphere, the breathtaking location with windows that look out at St. Peter's, a terrace where one sees the full beauty of the city, or because of the panoramic Jacuzzi where one can have a tasty and enchanting aperitif, it is certainly worth while going up to the Hotel Orange terrace, open every day for lunch and dinner and in the late hours after the theatre, where art, wine and delicious food treats all blend in together.

Besides the deluxe downtown hotels, now a “young" and colorful one (and well located) like the Orange Hotel is giving it a try. The “sirena" with its delicious food is situated right on the roof, has an exquisite (decorated prevalently in white and steel) and beautiful terrace with a breathtaking view. Great attention is given to the cuisine, and bills are not “aggressive" (around 45 Euros). Even for break period meals the price is reasonable. Lots of meat (tartars and Danish “battuta"), chicory and broad beans with “cruschi" peppers (southern style), cheese and pepper and “gricia" pastas (Roman specialties), bigoli anchovies, capers and tomatoes, grilled country style cuisine like pork “scortichino" with “misticanza" salad. And for dessert, ricotta cheese foam and walnut tiramisu.
